epiphyseal injury




Salter Harris type 2 injury of proximal tibial epiphysis











history - 17 yr old male with h/o RTA (fresh inj) sustaining injury to Rt proximal tibial epiphysis (closed) without NVD







T/t - CR under image & crossed K wire fixation followed by A/K slab immobilization












post op - pt discharged the next day with no signs of any neurovascular deficits
follow ups - awaiting

  1. actually in lateral view still some amt of translation is left to be corrected
    yes i agree to u vijay uncle, but we had the fear of peroneal artery going for spasm.
    JBJS there is a publication abt it , a study of 28 cases which even showed 2 cases going fr amputation becoz of the same complication
